Plays of the Year: The Fake Spike
Steel City Underground presents “Plays of the Year” featuring the tops runs, catches, hits and everything else in-between for the Steelers 2016 season.
Week 10 of the regular season. The Steelers are floating at .500, with a 4-4 record against the visiting Dallas Cowboys, who own one of the best records in all of football.
To avoid losing a fourth straight game in a row, the Steelers have to overcome a 29-24 deficit with 1:55 remaining in the 4th quarter.
For those in attendance, they don’t think, but know, Ben Roethlisberger is capable of settling the score.
Starting at their own 25, Big Ben completes 4 straight passes, marching Pittsburgh down to the Dallas 15. The clock keeps ticking, with under a minute remaining, as the Steelers QB hurries his team into position to stop the clock by spiking the football.
Except, that’s not what happened…
