The rumblings of Big Ben’s retirement may or may not have been blown out of proportion. Regardless, the Steelers all-time leader in nearly every major statistical passing category returns for a 14th season.
This time around, Roethlisberger will hope to play a full 16-game regular season. He has failed to do so since 2014, following back-to-back campaigns where he was available for every game.
Playing behind one of the league’s best offensive lines, Roethlisberger has seen the punishment placed on him diminish to nominal numbers. That should help preserve the franchise QB for at least a few more seasons, provided he doesn’t depart for an early retirement.
