Stats To Watch Out For: Steelers vs. Vikings (Week 2)

Last week was awesome if you love the Steelers and statistics. Ben Roethlisberger surpassed Fran Tarkenton for the ninth-most passing yards in NFL history (47,077), T.J. Watt became the third player in history to have 2 sacks and an INT in their debut, Le’Veon Bell passed Willie Parker for the eighth-most scrimmage yards in team history (6,097) and Antonio Brown‘s 182-yard performance broke a tie with Hines Ward for the most 100-yard receiving games in Steelers history with 30. Now that the first week is in the rearview mirror, let’s take a look at some stats to watch out for while viewing the Steelers Week 2 matchup.

300

Ben Roethlisberger missed the 300-yards passing mark last week by 37, but if he hits it vs. the Vikings, Ben will become the 10th quarterback in NFL history to throw for 300 or more yards in 50 regular season games.

165

Antonio Brown is 165 receiving yards shy from surpassing John Stallworth (8,723) for the second most in team history. Normally, a receiver would need two games to achieve this goal, but after dropping 182 last week on the Browns, anything is possible.

If the Steelers manage to beat the Vikings, Mike Tomlin will move one spot up to 37th on the all-time wins for coaches list. He passed John Madden last week and is currently tied with Buddy Parker (Steelers coach from 1957-1964) with 104 wins for both of them.

80

A half-sack would give James Harrison 80 in his career with the Steelers which only increases his lead for most sacks in team history. Jason Gildon is second on the list with 77. However, with only four snaps last week, there may not be enough opportunities for Deebo to achieve this.

51

A touchdown catch by Antonio Brown this weekend will tie him with Lynn Swann (51) for the third-most touchdown grabs in Steelers history.

12

Big Ben only needs 12 pass completions to surpass Drew Bledsoe (3,839) for ninth most completions in NFL history.

9

With a win on Sunday, the Steelers consecutive regular season games win streak will move up to nine. This dates back to Week 11 of the 2016 season and includes five road games.
