Quick Yinzing: Steelers, Bears Week 3

What a game. Hats off to the Chicago Bears on a victory. Now, to the Steelers…boy what a doozie this was. Let’s break this down little by little.

Where was that Steelers defense we saw the last two weeks? An injured Jordan Howard and a speedy rookie in Tarik Cohen completely obliterated this front and no, T.J. Watt’s absence is not an excuse.

This defense needs to work on their ability to stuff the run, and work on it fast. The AFC is full of great running teams and if this Bears team can run all over them, I can only imagine what a team like Oakland or Denver will do.

Next on my block: Where, oh where, is the so-called “best running back in the league”? Still haven’t seen him yet this year. I know Le’Veon Bell makes big plays and pretty plays, but still no 100-yard game. Still no dominant running. I saw more dominant running today out of the backup guys behind him than I did on one of his runs. Absolutely undeserving of the money he’s asking for.

But most of all, what hurt the Steelers were the turnovers due to offensive line injuries. Two of five guys were injured in the process of this game or prior games. With Guard Ramon Foster injured today and Marcus Gilbert as well, this line gave up turnovers that led to points.

Knowing full and well of that issue, a running game should’ve been further established and time should’ve been the only factor. I’m unsure as to why that did not occur, but one thing is for sure, Pittsburgh needs to come out looking better next week.
