SCU’s 2017 NFL Pick’em: Week 12
Each week a panel of SCU contributors will pick their winners and losers. Let’s see who does the best by the end of the season!
Sometimes bold predictions are needed to gain ground as sticking with the status quo could keep you in line with the current pace, but won’t gain you any ground.
That’s how a few folks here at SCU have been going recently, and while it sometimes works out, it isn’t always a given in today’s wild NFL.
For example, everyone nailed the Steelers and Saints victories but totally flopped on the Chiefs. Mike Drakulich was the only believer in the Falcons on Monday night and increased his first-place lead to two games over Joe Kuzma, who believed in the Oakland Raiders a little too much.
Zac Celedonia finally got off of the Browns wagon, as our panel unanimously (and correctly) chose the Jaguars to win. In some toss-ups, the Ravens beat the Packers, the Bucs beat the Dolphins, and the Texans got the better of the Cardinals. Both Mikes successfully saw the Vikings beat the Rams, and Zac took his underdog pick from the Browns and gave it to the Bears, who were a missed field goal away from forcing overtime.
However, this week Zac’s back to thinking Cleveland can finally win one on the road against the Bengals, while a full slate of our panelists are riding high on the Titans, Falcons, Patriots, Panthers, Eagles, and Seahawks. The bold picks besides the Browns’ pick by Zac include Joe taking the Broncos over the Raiders, Mike D. taking the Cards over the Jags, and Terry believing the Giants win last week over the Chiefs wasn’t a fluke.
