Elite Eight
The Chargers retooled throwback style to enter the Elite Eight round of our tournament to take on the classic Chicago Bears uniform. The Chargers defeated the Ravens and Browns to make it here, while the Bears coasted past the Titans and Panthers.
Here’s how the two teams look:
(16) Los Angeles Chargers
I’m young (or old) enough to remember when the current Chargers uniforms were their throwbacks. The white helmet with the variations of blue and powder blue was so popular they once again became the default style of choice for the team that moved to Los Angeles last season… and thankfully didn’t tweak a thing!
(25) Chicago Bears
“Da Bears” are another team who has stuck to tradition, seldom making any adjustments to their uniform. You can look at decades worth of Bears photos and see very little difference in their navy and orange uniforms.
The initials “GSH” on their sleeves were added in 1984 in memory of “Papa Bear” George Stanley Halas, Sr.
