Biggest threats remaining on the Steelers 2018 schedule

Heading into a weekend with no Steelers football, it’s a good time to look ahead at the next ten games remaining on Pittsburgh’s schedule and which teams could pose the biggest threat down the road toward the Super Bowl. Let’s have a look at which teams could pose the most problems for the Steelers, but first, here’s a quick overview of what’s left for the Pittsburgh Steelers 2018 schedule:

@ Baltimore Ravens (Currently 3-3)

The Jaguars are currently 3-3 and may pose a threat, but it’s the AFC North matchup on the road with the Ravens that has me most worried right now. This is a must-win for the Steelers in my opinion, to keep pace in the division and at least position themselves for a Wild Card berth. A loss here could mean the Steelers miss out on the postseason even with a winning record.

New England Patriots (Currently 4-2)

How can a game at Heinz Field against the New England Patriots not be of concern?

The Steelers won’t be looking ahead at this one just yet and based on last year’s comments and fallout, there’s no way they’ll be discussing the game prior to Week 15. That doesn’t mean this game won’t be important, as it should have playoff implications.

@ New Orleans Saints (Currently 4-1)

Sandwiched between these last three games on the schedule is a trip to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome: a very difficult place to play at. After having to get emotionally psyched up against the Patriots, the Steelers are matched up against the high-powered New Orleans Saints offense.

The Saints may be in a dogfight within their own division and in need of a win as much as the Steelers during Week 16. Mark this one down for a potential shootout between two of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game.

Cincinnati Bengals (Currently 4-2)

This one could be for all of the marbles in the final week of the regular season. Over the past few years the Steelers have cruised into Week 17 with a “break” against the lowly and already eliminated Cleveland Browns. This time, they may be in a tight race for the division and a potential AFC North Championship could be on the line against a Bengals team who has lost their last seven-straight to the Steelers and will definitely be looking for payback.
