When most football and sports fans think of betting on the Super Bowl, they think, “Okay, who is going to win?” Then, they put down money on their best guess on who will win the game.

But in this day and age, there is another way to bet on games. Another popular form of gambling during the Super Bowl is called a “prop bet”.

Honestly, I had no idea what that was until a few years ago when I was watching the Super Bowl with some friends. One of my friends (who is not even a football fan) jumped up and said I won!!

I looked at them asking “You won what?”

They said, “I bet on how long the National Anthem would last and I was within 3 seconds! So, I won $40!”

My response? “What are you talking about?!”

After a little research, I realized nothing is off the table when it comes to sports betting. Now there are more than 1,000 prop bets available for Super Bowl XLV between the 49ers and Chiefs.
