The Five: Steelers who are key to upsetting the Cleveland Browns

Every week, ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ regular-season games, Steel City Underground will analyze the depth chart, injury reports, and key matchups against their upcoming opponent in order to point out “The 5” – Steelers players to watch

It is Cleveland Browns week and the Pittsburgh Steelers are looking to make a statement this week in the NFL’s AFC North division. After the fiasco against the Seahawks, the Steelers are motivated to beat their longtime rivals during regulation time coming out of their bye week. Will the Steelers continue their undefeated streak coming out of the bye or will the Browns get the upset? We will find out soon.

Cameron Heyward

Mr. Heyward always comes up big in big moments and he is going to have a lot of them this week. He is playing at a DPOY level so far and I see him causing havoc up front in this game. Heyward will also need to be on his game because the Browns have the number one rushing attack in the league right now. So I can see Heyward getting multiple sacks and definitely a couple of tackles for loss.

T.J. Watt

After his heroic efforts before the bye, I anticipate Watt to keep up the pressure against the Browns. Watt, this season, is mostly unstoppable. He has a history of multi-sack games against Baker Mayfield and he definitely has a chance to continue that this week. This will also be interesting due to Mayfield’s health and if the Browns quarterback gets knocked out of the game early.

Najee Harris

I fully expect Harris to keep up his impact on offense. He has begun to come into his own form recently, and I expect him to be the workhorse this week. I also think that he will be used a lot as a receiver this week. Whatever way he is implemented, his impact will be a major influence on the outcome of this game.

Chase Claypool

While Claypool has been going through his sophomore slump this year, he may have a resurgence this week. He can be a great mismatch against the Browns defense with his height but that also depends if he actually can come down with the catch. Many times this season, Claypool has simply failed at using his body to fight for the catch. If he wants to improve his game, he needs to come down with these combat catches. We may see the Claypool of 2020 this Sunday, hopefully.

Pat Freiermuth

You all knew this was coming. This can be that game where Freiermuth sees the end zone numerous times for the first time in his career. Roethlisberger has been getting very comfortable with targeting the rookie tight end in conversion situations and I can see him tear up the Browns in between the hashes and in the red zone. Come on guys let the “Muttthhh” loose. The fans have been waiting for it!
