Plays of the Year: Harris rushes for 2 hard-earned touchdowns
Steel City Underground presents “Plays of the Year” featuring the top runs, catches, hits and everything else in-between from the Pittsburgh Steelers 2023 season.
The Pittsburgh Steelers had a tone they set early in Week 17 of the 2023 regular season game against the Seattle Seahawks: run the ball for success. Even though Pittsburgh’s offense was actually well-balanced, the run game proved to be a valuable component to their success in the 30-23 win.
Paired with Jaylen Warren in the Steelers offensive backfield, Najee Harris ran with purpose and power, recording two touchdowns in the victory.
Harris’s first rushing touchdown in the game capped a nine-play, 75-yard Steelers offensive drive in the second quarter. On 2nd & goal at the Seattle 9-yard line, Mason Rudolph handed the ball off to Harris who bulldozed into the end zone.

As Harris stretched across the goal line, the ball bounced off the turf and a scrum occurred. The play was determined to be a successful touchdown, however.
Harris’ second touchdown occurred in the third quarter. The Steelers offense lined up on 1st & Goal at the Seattle 4-yard line and Harris was once again able to punch his way into the end zone with the help of a handful of teammates.
The two touchdowns were proof that Harris still has a dog inside him ready to battle on the field. Potentially the most proof of his determination came on a play that may earn Harris an “angry runs” award from Good Morning Football on the NFL Network this week.
