Watch: DeMarvin Leal steals a preseason sack for the Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been building for dominance along their defensive front throughout the off-season. They saw some motivating improvement in their preseason opener against the Houston Texans at Acrisure Stadium.

In the second quarter, Texans quarterback Davis Mills had the Houston offense at the Pittsburgh 14. On the 1st & 10 play, Mills took the snap under center, peeled back for the play action, and rolled right. He didn’t realize Steelers defensive end DeMarvin Leal had blasted out of his stance and was nearly upon him.

Leal beat the Texans blocker, wrapped Mills up, and earned a sack that became a loss of ten yards.

Leal also earned a tackle for a loss in the game, as well as three tackles and a quarterback hit.

Defensive tackle Montravius Adams and linebacker Jeremiah Moon both added a sack apiece in the game.

The Steelers only allowed 80 yards of rushing from the Texans thanks, in part, to a defensive front that played stingy. They also allowed just one-of-three red zone trips by Houston to successfully convert.
