The 2-0 Pittsburgh Steelers would open their home schedule of the 2024 NFL regular season by hosting the 2-0 Los Angeles Chargers in a Week 3 matchup of evenly matched teams who focused on strong run games and stout defenses.

Partway into the fourth quarter, the Steelers offense would take the field after getting the ball back with a 13-10 advantage.

After converting two first downs early in the five-play drive, QB Justin Fields would step back and throw a pass across the middle of the field to third-year receiver Calvin Austin. Austin, who was one the fastest players in his draft class, showcased his speed by darting past the Chargers secondary en route to a 55-yard touchdown.

The score would firmly place the Steelers ahead by ten points and secure a 20-10 victory. Pittsburgh would improve to 3-0 on the season.
