Steelers GameDay Cheat Sheet: Week 7 at New Orleans Saints

Steelers GameDay Cheat Sheet is a weekly series featuring a quick glance at the upcoming Steelers game, including odds, records, things to watch for, and how to watch/listen to the game.

Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2) vs. New Orleans Saints (2-4)

The Pittsburgh Steelers are heading overseas this week, preparing to face the New Orleans Saints in the NFL’s first regular-season game in Paris, France. Sunday’s matchup at Stade de France will be a historic occasion for both franchises, but Pittsburgh has more on its mind than sightseeing as it looks to extend its winning streak to three games.

The Steelers improved to 4-2 following a dramatic 26-19 overtime victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdown passes, while rookie Germie Bernard continued his emergence with 11 receptions for 87 yards and his first NFL touchdown. Defensively, Pittsburgh received several timely contributions, including interceptions from Jamel Dean and Daylen Everette, two sacks from Nick Herbig, and Jalen Ramsey‘s game-clinching sack in overtime.

New Orleans enters Sunday’s contest with a 2-4 record, but the Saints have been considerably more productive offensively than their record suggests. Quarterback Tyler Shough has thrown 12 touchdown passes through six games, while wide receiver Chris Olave ranks among the NFL’s leading receivers with 580 yards. The Saints are also converting 42.5% of their third-down opportunities and have scored touchdowns on an impressive 84.2% of their red-zone possessions.

However, New Orleans has struggled defensively, allowing 29.7 points and 377.7 yards per game. Those numbers could create opportunities for Jaylen Warren and Pittsburgh’s offense, provided the Steelers can overcome the slow starts and third-down struggles that have followed them throughout the season.

This preview breaks down the key stats and notes for Sunday’s matchup, along with where you can watch and listen to the game.
