5 Players to Watch: Week 6 Steelers vs. Chiefs
This week the Steelers travel to Kansas City to face the undefeated Chiefs.
Not gonna lie, this may be my least creative iteration of “5 Players to Watch” yet, but rightfully so. This team disappointed greatly last week.
The Steelers problems right now all start at the top. This is why my Steelers to watch this week are 2 of the Killer B’s.
Ben Roethlisberger
No need to get creative, Ben Roethlisberger is a key player this week. While a teams quarterback seems like an obvious choice for a “player to watch” list, this week especially is important for Ben.
He disappointed last week in Jacksonville, throwing five picks, and has very little momentum going into this game.
If the Steelers want to beat the Chiefs, then Ben will need to bring his A-game.
Le’Veon Bell
A common theme of the Steelers 2016 season was Le’Veon Bell’s dominance. If you look closely you’ll see that in each Steelers win, Bell played a huge role.
The Steelers need to put the ball in Bell’s hand in order to beat the Chiefs. His versatility as both a runner and catcher gives him unmatched versatility that can be a nightmare for defenses.
By establishing the run game with Bell, the Steelers can have their balanced offense that they need to win games.
Tyreek Hill
Tyreek Hill is easily one of the most dangerous weapons in the NFL He has big-play potential and has the ability to flip the game anytime he gets the ball in his hands.
It will be a serious test for our secondary, who have yet to face a wide receiver of his caliber.
Kareem Hunt
The Steelers have had some trouble with running backs this season. Both Leonard Fournette and Jordan Howard had field days against the Steelers defense, which led to Steelers losses.
If the Steelers allow Hunt to run all over them, they will lose the game. However! If they can bottle him up and force the Chiefs offense to be unbalanced, then the Steelers will have a much better chance of winning.
Chris Jones
As we saw versus the Jaguars, the Steelers offensive line has struggled in pass protection this year. This week this line gets another big test, defensive lineman Chris Jones.
Jones is a young player and still a tad raw, but he is brimming with talent. As he puts together his game more and more he gets closer to being an elite defender in this league.
The Steelers interior offensive lineman will need to be stout this week in order to keep Ben safe and open holes for Bell, and it will be no easy task.
