SCU’s 2017 NFL Pick’em: Week 6
Each week a panel of SCU contributors will pick their winners and losers. Let’s see who does the best by the end of the season!
If Tampa Bay had a field goal kicker, who could make a field goal, the upset special was on first thing last Thursday. New England escaped Tampa with a win after Nick Folk missed three field goals.
The rest of the week went poorly for most of our panel. The Bills fell to the Bengals, no one picked the Panthers to beat the Lions, and of course, the Steelers dropped a game to the Jaguars while the Raiders fell to the Ravens.
In the battle of 0-5 teams, most of us felt the Giants could overcome the Chargers, but what we didn’t know then that we do now, is that New York would lose four of their five active wide receivers in that game.
This week stands to be a bit of a change as well. Most of us are taking the Packers over the Vikings and the Falcons over the Dolphins. Ditto for the Patriots over the Jets.
Can the Ravens do something the Steelers didn’t and beat the Bears? (Quite a few of us think yes!)
Flip a coin on a few other games, and you have the rest of our picks…

Current Standings
Only two of our panelists were on the right side of .500 last week: Mike Pelaia bounces back with a huge 11-5 week while Tommy Jaggi had the second-best tally with nine wins. Everyone else either finished 8-8 or 7-9, which caused Brian Roach and Joe Kuzma to drop their three-way tie with Mike Drakulich for first place. Mike moves one game ahead of both for sole possession of the top spot, with everyone else still in contention heading into Week 6.
