SCU’s Best NFL Jersey Tournament: Titans vs. Bears
Welcome to Steel City Underground’s latest March Madness creation: The “Best” NFL Jersey Tournament!
Now I know you’re wondering, just what the heck is this?
Well, during the dead months of the NFL offseason, we honestly don’t have much to talk about… except for college basketball… and since the NCAA March Madness tournament isn’t football, we decided to blend the two after a recent internal debate about which team has the best uniforms!
For those of you visiting this as your first entry into the series: you can catch up on all of the details, including previous match ups and how we determined seeding, by visiting the official SCU’s Best NFL Jersey Tournament page.
Without further adieu, here are today’s contestants:
(8) Tennessee Titans
The Titans’ blue as well as their white helmets are a throwback to their previous identity as the Houston Oilers. Rather than use traditional stripes on their helmet and jersey sleeves, the Titans opted for a contemporary look. The result retains their history along with change: which is a perfect fit for the franchise.
(25) Chicago Bears
“Da Bears” are another team who has stuck to tradition, seldom making any adjustments to their uniform. You can look at decades worth of Bears photos and see very little difference in their navy and orange uniforms.
The initials “GSH” on their sleeves were added in 1984 in memory of “Papa Bear” George Stanley Halas, Sr.
