What does Martavis Bryant’s reinstatement mean for the Steelers?
Today Martavis Bryant was reinstated! Great news for Steelers fans, bad news for opposing cornerbacks.
During Bryant’s entire career he was struggled to stay on the field. Some people are counting him out already, saying he is unable to stay off drugs or stay unhealthy. Those people have plenty of reasons to think that too.
Martavis Bryant’s Timeline:
- In 2014, he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers (118th overall pick)
- Bryant missed the first six games of the season due to an injury
- He recorded 549 yards receiving and eight touchdowns
In 2015, Bryant was suspended the first four games of the season due to violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
- Bryant played in 11 games
- He recorded 765 yards receiving and six touchdowns
In 2016, Martavis Bryant was suspended for the entire season for his repeated violations of the NFL’s substance-abuse policy.
Next season will be Bryant’s 4th year in the NFL and he has yet to play a full season. In fact he has only played in a total of 21 games in his career. However, during those 21 games he has shown that he was the talent and ability to produce big numbers on the field. The only question that remains is, can he stay on the field?
Martavis Bryant will immediately come into the Steelers offense as the #2 wide receiver. The Steelers can also rest easy knowing they won’t have to find that second option in the upcoming NFL Draft, as Bryant’s deep threat ability and bug body is a very nice complement to superstar wide receiver, Antonio Brown.
I can’t wait to watch Brown and Bryant take the field next season. Everyone should tune in because it’s going to be something special.
